The folks at Invivo Design have developed a highly versatile mill for our friends at GEFU, and we think it offers excellent answers to many of these questions … the X-PLOSION Salt or Pepper Mill is definitely a Cool Tool!
Let’s start at the bottom! The registered design of the X-PLOSION mill features the CYCLONE® ceramic cone grinder - ‘ceramic is not just for salt anymore!’ - regulated by an externally controlled 14-level grind adjustment, to deliver precise and efficient through-put, ranging from extra coarse to powder-fine. The brushed stainless steel lower body tapers outward at the bottom, to provide a stable grip while grinding, and displays markers for the levels of grind adjustment. The upper body is clear plastic, revealing the contents of the easy-to-refill chamber for your choice of salt, pepper, or other spices: you’ll always be aware of ‘how much is left?’ in this mill. Finally, the top seals hermetically in place to protect against moisture and to seal in aromas, while providing a 1”/2.5cm opening for easy refilling.
All this comes in a compact, attractive form that will work well over the stove and also be attractive on your tabletop! You’ll need two for a complete set ….
