Cooking with tongs has become second-nature: in almost every circumstance where a metal turner or fork (you don’t want to break a good sear by putting a hole in it) (or your thumb & index finger) isn’t the ‘right’ tool, tongs are the solution. Whether it’s chicken cutlets, broccoli flowerets, or something else that you need to turn in your pan, wok, or grilltop, tongs are the optimal tool.
But tongs also can present their own set of issues: opening and closing between actions, setting aside on a spoon rest or tong rest, or simply resting on the side of your pan only to watch it slide off onto your countertop or floor ... any of these scenarios will interrupt your cooking and create a mess, requiring cleanup of both the tool and its landing spot, and cause delay, likely resulting in an over-cooked dish! Not good!

Like so many products from Dreamfarm, these tongs have a compound name that gives clues to its multiple functionalities: the CLONGS open & close with a ‘CLick’ when you press the bottom button on your countertop or cutting board, easily enabling one-handed (right or left) operating tONGS. In addition, the black silicone tips avoid damaging your nonstick pots & pans. There is a slight bend in the handles - another Dreamfarm signature design feature - that allows the CLONGS to rest either head up (~0.625”/1.6cm) off your countertop - no-drip or drip into a spoonrest - or to rest securely over the edge of your pan - draining back into your pan. So many features and options, in such a (seemingly) simple tool! Definitely a Cool Tool!
